Announcing the Establishment of the SmartEEs Association – ready for business beyond Horizon 2020!

16 February 2022 – The SmartEEs Association is officially launched, opening its doors to companies, including Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), and research institutions to support the production and adoption of flexible and wearable electronics (FWE) technology.

SmartEEs reached an amazing milestone with the establishment of its independent SmartEEs Association. After a full review process as part of the SmartEEs2 project funded under the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation scheme, under Grant Agreement no 872076, the SmartEEs Association is now the 15th official partner of the project.

The SmartEEs2 project is the Digital Innovation Hub for FWE technology, offering integrated innovation services to facilitate efficient adoption of FWE technologies by business and concrete market cases in any sector, including furthering transformation where digital technologies are underexploited. To ensure high quality services and excellent customer experience, as well as sustainability past the Horizon 2020 funded project, we are happy to announce the establishment of the SmartEEs Association.

The Association is represented by a front office. Its founding members signed the bylaws that install the Association as an independent legal. Following a Grant Agreement amendment on 1 September 2021, the Association is now fully operational as a single-entry point for customers.

We are fully committed to serving the market with Flexible & Wearable Electronics solutions. With the founding members and large network of associated companies, the Association is here to support integrating FWE technology, whether to FWE tech providers or those want to apply its solutions to business. For a first glance at the technology offer, please visit the SmartEEs Association website (https://smartees.tech), where you can also contact the front office (https://smartees.tech/contact-us).

You can also have a look at the extensive SmartEEs2 marketplace (https://ecosystem.smartees2.eu/), which is fully integrated into the Association’s offerings. Further, to stay up-to-date on all the Association’s activities, as well as news from the FWE ecosystem, be sure to follow the new Association on LinkedIn (@smartees-fwea)  and Twitter (@SmarteesF).

The first Constituent General Assembly, held on 18 June 2021, established the Association as a non-profit organization. On 23 July 2021, the Association was registered in Belgium as an independent legal entity with legal capacity, which, according to Belgian law, is governed by the bylaws signed by its Founding Members.

SmartEEs2 – FREE WORKSHOP

This will be a hybrid event, happening both physically at LOPEC and online through Microsoft TEAMS, with the physical event being limited to 30 seats.
SmartEEs2 is a European project dedicated to helping innovative companies digitize their business by providing financial support for the testing, experimentation, and manufacturing of solutions integrating Flexible and Wearable Electronics.

One of the instruments created is the support to new projects, called Applications Experiments, to which different entities can apply to receive specialized support in the development of new technologies.

This workshop will focus on presenting the results of the Application Experiments that have been supported by SmartEEs and on the Marketplace created for the project, as well as providing technical training in the field of FWE.
